Set sail from Marina da Glória for three hours around Guanabara Bay, passing Rio’s forts, Boa Viagem Island, and Niterói’s striking contemporary art museum. The small boat carries no more than 12 people, with drinks, snacks, and friendly guides such as Clarisse and Karina. Swimming may be possible when weather and the captain allow.

“This was SO such fun!! Clarisse and the crew made sure everyone on board was well taken care. There was about 10 of us on board and it definitely didn’t feel overcrowded. The drinks were unlimited and the snacks were yummy! Clarisse was the absolute sweetest person and made sure everyone was happy the whole time. An absolute gem! I would HIGHLY recommend this tour! Especially for solo travellers like I was! 5 stars all around!”

Schooner ride with or without Lunch Included – Angra dos Reis and Ilha Grande

4.Schooner ride with or without Lunch Included – Angra dos Reis and Ilha Grande

★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · 132 reviews · from $12Lowest fare aboard

You’ll spend about six hours aboard a schooner from Angra dos Reis, stopping at Lagoa Azul, Araça Beach, the Botinas Islands, and Gipoia Island. Expect snorkeling, swimming, rainforest views, and lunch at a local beach restaurant. Choose the lunch-included option if you want a simpler day, since food onboard is limited.

“Passeio básico para quem vai a Angra, pelo preço vale a pena e você consegue mergulha e curtir um pouco a praia. Porém, levem lanches. No barco a única opção de compra era fandangos e o preço do almoço (se não estiver incluso) é absurdo. Um prato simples de filé de frango com batatas fritas é 170 reais, e não há outra opção para se alimentar. De resto, o passeio vale a pena.”
